Friday, January 9, 2015 - A "wow" wine. Nose offers a complex melange of black cherry, rhubarb, baking spice, clove, and pie crust. All the action is on the palate -- voluptuous and vivacious black cherry and wild berry, with rich notes of baking spice and some mineral cut across the mid-palate. Long finish -- stil tasting the wine a good 90 seconds after a sip. Perfectly balanced -- loads of fruit, but with a nice spine of acidity and some soft tannin to round things out. A splendid effort. Makes me regret that I stopped buying after the '08 vintage.
