Saturday, January 17, 2015 - If you are a fan of the Dao style (many aren't), this is an insane value red to have in your home. The nose and palate both carry a bit of green pine that I find characteristic of Dao wines. There is a blackberry currant underlying this on the nose with deep red cherry and other dark fruits. The palate follows as expected, though there are some solid (not overbearing) tannins on the tail end. It is tough to buy a wine this cheap and hold it, but this is one that would be interesting to follow a couple times a year over the next 4-5 years as I think it will evolve in a positive way over the medium term. Great buy.
