Wednesday, March 4, 2015 - I have a soft spot for this wine despite my strong preference for traditionally made wines (this is raised entirely in new barrique, and it shows). We ordered this to drink while we waited for a 1998 Monfortino to open up, but as luck would have it I thought this was the bottle that needed more air. Very slick: candied red cherries, fresh roses, and spices. A bit flabby on the palate—it would really benefit from more acid. Enjoyable nonetheless. Rated 1 on a scale of -1 to 3.
