Friday, February 20, 2015 - Tasted blind. Clear, day bright, medium yellow/gold with hints of copper. Some rim variation, with medium extract. The nose is clean, of medium intensity, with pear, citrus, white flowers and a chalky, minerality. The palate is dry and medium-bodied, with flavors of apple, pear, ripe lemon and slightly salty river stones. The alcohol is medium to medium (+) at 13.5% and the acidity is medium (+) and palate cleansing. The length and complexity are both medium. This wine is more reminiscent of an Alsatian Pinot Gris than your more common, high volume valley floor Pinot Grigios. It is quite tasty and worth the few extra bucks.
