From a MGA vineyard near Neive. Decanted. Med ruby, w/ a garnet hue. Clean, med+ ripe red cherries, dried red roses, tobacco and just a touch of neutral oak. Dry, w/ plenty of fruit left. Med to med+ acidity, med, resolved tannins & high alcohol (14%). Med+ flavor intensity & length. It is drinking really well now, w/ several years of development left. It is not a standout wine, but is drinking much better than expected given some of the prior reviews.

100 Valdiguie' f/k/a Napa Gamay, from the highlands of Paso Robles. Clear, med (-) ruby. Med+ strawberry, red cherry, blueberry, pink peppercorn, asian spice, w/ a bit of spice and vanilla from aging in neutral French oak. Dry, but w/ plenty of juicy fruit, med to med+ acidity, med to med(-) tannins and med alcohol (13.1%). Med body, med to med (+) flavor intensity. Quiet quaffable and also food-friendly. Drink now, now intended for aging.

2016 Two Hands Shiraz Lily's Garden

Med (+) purple. Little sign of aging. Med+ ripe, jammy red cherries, black cherries, black plum, coffee, cedar, sweet baking spices. Dry, but very fruit-driven, consistent with the nose. Med acidity, med to med+, tannins and high alcohol (14.2%). Full body, w/ a smooth, velvety mouthfeel. Med+ flavor intensity & length. Very nicely balanced and well integrated, it is showing only minimal incremental development, and has plenty of aging potential left.
