Tuesday, June 16, 2015 - Coravin. This is very fine. The nose doesn't give you much. It is restrained, brooding, masculine, and multilayered. The finish is outstanding and keeps building with secondary notes of tobacco, underbrush, and cocoa. Calls for meat.

    6/17/2015 3:48:00 PM - Hi there NeuroWine1,
Why Coravin? For service or just for a sip?
I was thinking to wait until 2020 or so for my only bottle, what do you think?
    Cheers!

6/17/2015 3:57:00 PM - Harley, coravin'd b/c I am going to host an Italian wine tasting tonight and I wanted to make sure it was approachable. I have 3 or 4 btls but I thought this was a good time to open one or two. I have had the 03 as well and it is drinking fine at the moment. The '04 is big boned and masculine but the tannins are supple and I think this is in the zone, but will remain here for a while. I would say if you have a nice occasion, by all means don't be afraid to pull the cork.

6/17/2015 4:05:00 PM - NeuroWine1, I see. Well done. That's why I asked. Thanks for your helpful comment. Gonna wait then 'cause I prefer my Campania wines well-aged.
    Cheers!
