Tuesday, August 18, 2015 - Dark-fruited, warm site characteristics of the Toulouse vineyard, but not overripe like the Toulouse estate wine sometimes can be. There are some slightly bitter back-end tannins that I so often find in Anderson Valley Pinots of this age. They do resolve if the wine is worthy of further age, which I estimate that this bottling certainly is. I do prefer Phillips Hill's more red-fruited, cooler vineyard site bottlings however.
