Aging very nicely. Becoming more beautifully pale. Still nice fruit on the nose, but very well integrated with older, savory characteristics. Flavor of a piece with the smell - still California Pinot, but none of the negative aspects of that label. Texture and mouthfeel medium-light - no flabbiness at all. Quite a beautiful expression of the Anderson Valley. Feels like a peak in mid '16 - I could imagine another year or two at most at this level.

Dark-fruited, warm site characteristics of the Toulouse vineyard, but not overripe like the Toulouse estate wine sometimes can be. There are some slightly bitter back-end tannins that I so often find in Anderson Valley Pinots of this age. They do resolve if the wine is worthy of further age, which I estimate that this bottling certainly is. I do prefer Phillips Hill's more red-fruited, cooler vineyard site bottlings however.

Ruby color with aromatic dark cherry, red plum, brown sugar, spice, damp earth aromas. On the palate, it's light-bodied silky smooth and well-balanced with cherry, wild raspberry, and spice flavors. Long finish

Loved this wine and reminded me how much I enjoy Phillips Hill wines overall. Medium to dark in color with purplish hues. Nose is earthy and rich with complex aromas. Palate unfolds to offer blackberries, rich sweet plums and a bit of funkiness. some spice elements emerge but the calling card of this wine is the purity and depth of its fruit component. Beautiful wine- need to pick up another one of these!

1 hour decant. Very light, translucent color. Nose of wild raspberry and wild cherry opening up to a range of spices and a touch of green herbs. Palate is medium weight with sweet and silky red fruits up front, bringing lively acid and spice. The alcohol spike on the finish is worth noting but very well may integrate with time. The wine is a baby at this point in time and I'd like to give it the benefit of the doubt. 89-92.

Excellent wine, although probably 1-2 years past its peak.

Gorgeous, if less beautifully feminine than others from this little boutique winery. Drank it on a special night.

Nice soft red fruits & a bit of earth to it. Good balance, not too candied or new-world.

Tasting in Anderson Valley; Goldeneye, Navarro, Toulose, Phillips Hill, and Zina Hyde Cunningham (Anderson Valley, CA): Light ruby color with fresh, mixed berry, cranberry and sandalwood aromas. On the palate, it's light-bodied, smooth, and balanced with cherry, blueberry, and spice flavors. Medium-long finish. 14.2% alcohol
