90 Points

Saturday, December 19, 2015 - Devin and I held an impromptu Christmas Veranda Time and were pleasantly surprised to have 35 people show up despite some surprise rain and week before the Big Day. We opened a total of six wines, three white, three red, trying to cover all the bases not knowing what pot luck side dishes would arrive. The main staple was a tomato based chicken orzo soup that was a hit.

This was a fall back Chardonnay for the night. It was as popular as ever. When offering the Sauv Blanc, the Puligny, most chose this as their white. Don’t get me wrong, a great Chardonnay ,but they missed a chance to try the White Burg. Okay this was a darker yellow than the PM. It is very rich and creamy. Pears, peaches, and citrus come popping through. It hangs around the mouth quite while and went with the various cheese we had out that night. I can’t believe I have no tasting notes on this as it has become of daily house white. Good stuff all around.
