2010 Talenti Brunello di Montalcino

Community Tasting Note

90 Points

Monday, March 28, 2016 - Very tight nose on opening, needed a decant to open up. Medium ruby in glass, bit thin at the edge. Nose of red berries and sour cherry. Very pleasant on the palate. Enjoyed over two days, definitely better on day two. By end of third had taken on a baked fruit / port note (oxidized).

3/29/2016 12:22:00 PM - Yes, a software glitch. It kept saying (in summary) 'couldn't post, number of characters exceeded'. It was done from an iPhone. I've gone in and tried to clean it up / remove duplicate postings.

3/31/2016 10:51:00 AM - Thanks for commenting. I enjoyed your note - found it helpful. I've been sampling a handful of the 2010 Brunelli. Difficult to generalize - some have been open for business day one and quickly faded. Some have been good day one and great day two. (No bottle ever really makes it to day 3 at my house.) I have half a dozen of the Talenti and have not considered trying yet. Based on your note, I probably will though will take your advice to decant - probably much of the day though I'll know better once opened.
