Tuesday, April 19, 2016 - In all honesty, this was a case a bought randomly, purely on region and year.
Purchased at only 26,50 Euro / bottle, I have very little expectations for it.

But am I glad to report that I was very much wrong in my initial judgement.
This wine turned out to be quite the enjoyment, from uncorking till last drop.

Being of young age, I uncorked in the morning before heading to work.
In the evening, the bottle ( no decant ) was enjoyed for period of 6 Hrs.

Colour - very dark, hints of purple, very sticky in the glass, young
Nose - oh so typical of St. Julien - stunning and very little to fault there
Taste - already very round in mouth, packed with flavour, very peppery and spicy
Finish - strong ... very strong, but also very well balanced running down

Strangely enough the nose reminded me of Ducru Beaucaillou, though taste and finish didn't follow same path.
Still, I am thrilled to have four more bottles cellared, plenty to enjoy for the next ten years ( keep till 2025 IMO ).
Not ready for pop and pour, slow O2'ing or decanting is required at this stage to fully enjoy its potential.

There you go, a real surprise P/Q to be found in the St. Julien appellation ! Thumps up and easily 91/100
