Friday, July 1, 2016 - Took some time to open up. Picking up red fruit pastilles, floral notes, dark chocolate, sweet tobacco smoke and allspice. The nose bears an uncanny resemblance to Chianti. An elegant entry gives way to a complex mid palate of cherries and coffee grounds supported by fine grained tannins. The finale feels alcoholic with a bitter aftertaste. Long finish. This wine grows on you, and I find it surprisingly enjoyable despite the unexpected bitterness. Coravin'd.
