Took some time to open up. Picking up red fruit pastilles, floral notes, dark chocolate, sweet tobacco smoke and allspice. The nose bears an uncanny resemblance to Chianti. An elegant entry gives way to a complex mid palate of cherries and coffee grounds supported by fine grained tannins. The finale feels alcoholic with a bitter aftertaste. Long finish. This wine grows on you, and I find it surprisingly enjoyable despite the unexpected bitterness. Coravin'd.

PNP - very tight upon opening, tannins overpowering the fruit. Best to decant or let this one sit for a while. Checked back after a couple hours and the fruit was starting to come through. It was much better on day two. Let this one sit in the cellar if you can, maybe wait until 2018

Ready to drink now, very fruity up front, Syrah grape really powers through. Not sure how long I’ll hold onto my last bottle!
