Monday, August 15, 2016 - Lovely example of Pichon Lalande. On the nose, there were leafy green aromas, hints of coffee, cedar, graphite, and dark fruits showing the cooler, classic profile of the '89 vintage. On the palate, resolved and pretty - an elegant, composed claret from a high quality producer. I preferred this to the one time I've had the '82, though I think that is likely more a function of the particular bottles I had rather than a definitive preference for one vintage over the other. Wish I had more time to spend with this wine, and more than a glass, but thankful to have had it.
