Friday, February 1, 2008 - This is a big spatlese. If there was new world and old world in German rieslings, this will clearly be new world. Big ripe honey, pear and quincy are followed by a clean sour apple aftertaste. On the first night the wine was very exhuberant only to settle nicely two nights later when everything was toned down and much better integrated. If someone had asked me in a blind tasting at that point what this wine was, I would have guessed a sauternes. This is good and should get better with time. 91+
