Sunday, December 25, 2016 - Figured this vintage was on the edge so made sure to decant for 6 hours. when first opened, the nose was mainly alcohol but when it was time to drink, the bouquet was much more pleasant with flowers and licorice. No surprise that the color was a deep purple hue. The wine was heavy bodied but supple. Although a bit grippy and the end, the wine drank well with a great roast and heavily creamed scalloped potatoes. If you have a bottle of this left, I would suggest you get to it ASAP, decant it for at least 6 hours, and make sure you have a big meal in front of you.
