Wednesday, December 28, 2016 - 14.5% alcohol, sturdy foil, real cork, more brown than red but with red glints, long legs, light fruit nose, tannins & alcohol muted, bing cherries, pears, lychee, a little citrus-like zing; very pleasant finish but not long-lasting; not very complex -- more of a 'background' wine, delicious in its own way, a textbook example of the smoothness that is achieved by aging; so the advice of 'drink 2008-2012' can be lengthened by at least four years and probably even longer, if cellared properly; we paired this excellent wine with rack of lamb, gas grilled over smoldering apple wood, a memorable combination
