Sunday, January 1, 2017 - On pop and pour the nose was very mellow with little to suggest what would follow. Dark and thick in the glass. Muted dark cherry on the palate with barnyard. With air the barnyard element really came forward on both the nose and the palate pushing the fruit to the back. If this wine was won’t fruit-forward, it ain’t no more! Smooth finish with mild acidity and tannins. I don’t know what this was like a few years ago, but it may be past its prime at this point.
