Saturday, January 7, 2017 - Decanted for 2 hours. Medium to dark ruby. Confected sweet red fruit and a bit of green leaf on the nose at first but with time more dominant scents of iron-inflected mulberry and raspberry emerged along with forest floor and violets. Streamlined, elegant, and lithe on the palate with layers of red raspberry, mulberry, and black cherry laced with iron and a bit of char at the end. Freshening acidity and moderated tannin, leading to a longer finish of rocky red fruit, iron particles, and brambles. Young wine with great balance but room to develop further.
