Sunday, February 5, 2017 - Nose is lively, almost zesty, with red licorice and barbecue sauce. Medium body and nice acidity. Tannins are a touch rough and astringent. Some alcohol heat rides the fruit on the front of the palate, with that fruit being comprised of cherry, cranberry, and raspberry. Finish is dry and of moderate length. This wine is a bit of the heavy side in terms of ABV and fruit, but it certainly counters that with acidity and dryness. Made well, but I'd like to see it relaxed a notch.
