Tasted after 30 minutes of air. Medium garnet color. Some stewy red berry fruit notes. Savory notes. A bit of heat. Some lift on the mid palate. Lacks punch. Fading. Still decent but I would drink up.

Popped and poured. Still pretty tight. Gritty tannins. Red berry fruits. Currents. Rustic. Nice balance. Licorice. This isn't fading at all. Long life ahead. I often prefer the cheapo Ste. Michelle wines to their more expensive offerings. This is no exception. $12 at Costco. Much better than the wines they are selling for $50 at the winery.

Again I often prefer these low cost Ste. Michelle wines far more than the higher priced ones that are over oaked and extracted. Great balance on this wine between tannins and fruit. Just enough oak to provide some complexity but not too much to overwhelm the fruit. Nice fine grained tannins to provide grip. Some cigar box and graphite notes. An excellent wine from Ste. Michelle.

Nice lively and glossy garnet colour. First hit on nose is oak which follows through to the palate, a sweetness - Dulce de leche? - and blackcurrant. Plenty of oaky vanilla balanced by the acidity and red fruits. A middle ranking satisfying mouthful in good equilibrium.

Found this to be a very respectable cabernet from the Pacific Northwest. Dark purple in the glass. Aromas of dark fruit and earthiness, with flavors of dark cherry, blackberry, toasted caramel and chocolate. Medium mouthfeel with a balanced, if one dimensional, texture that was rich and appealing, followed by a medium, smooth finish. Sure, we like to drink the "good stuff," but we also like to find those hidden gems that don't damage the budget or break the bank. This wine is an excellent example of a cuvee that has reached its' peak drinking window four years after the growing season.

I used this in a braised beef shank recipe and drank the rest on 9/22/18. It had a soft, harmonious bouquet of black currant, toast, vanilla, cinnamon and spice aromas. The palate was smooth and soft with flavors that followed the nose.

A touch of sweetness. Very smooth tannins and good fruit. Nice length. Biggest plus of this wine is that they didn't over oak it. Many of the more expensive Ste Michelle wines have way too much oak.

Blackberry bramble and milk chocolate on the nose, blackberry, cassis, milk chocolate and menthol on the palate. Tannins are fairly sweet and medium grippy. Very nice QPR at $12 from Fred Meyer / Kroger. Good mid-week drinker.

Medium thick foil, appears to be genuine cork (monogrammed), 14.5% alcohol, long, slow legs, dark red, nose is fruit forward; vinturied but tasted immediately afterwards, full bodied, complex (main body + vanilla/oak finish), nice balance of fruit & tannins, notes of bing cherries, raspberries, peaches, even guava, will pair with almost any food; dry vs. non-dry: here, you have both, an amazing feat, dryness at the back of the throat but further forward is fruit, medium finish with notes of vanilla
90% cab 10% syrah. New world. Delicious everyday wine. Great nose. No it’s not complex and probably doesn’t drink like a cab should. personally I don’t usually like syrah/cab blend.

PNP. This gains 3 points due to its great QPR. Same as my prior notes, but this time there was a distinct new cardboard scent, along with some tobacco and red fruit. Nice smooth palate.
PNP. Rich, musky nose of sweet spice, honey and blackberry tart. Full palate with great acidity and mouth drying tannins. Firm tannins on medium finish. Terrific QPR here.

Nothing special and pretty basic everyday wine. Tried this as it was on the WS Value List under $20 and I'm always looking for a good everyday wine. I think the CC H3's are still better.....if this is on a good sale - I may pick up a few more but I won't seek it out! Probably needs another year in the bottle too.

So here's the deal, we're talking about a wine you can buy for $15 on sale, and for some inexplicable reason, some people are busting on it like it's an expensive wine that's not perfect. This wine, and ALL Chateau Ste. Michelle wines, drink well above their price point. Everytime I have CSM wine I'm impressed.
This cab, in particular, is delicious, and made more so by the QPR it provides.

Nice fruit on the nose with noticeable overt tannins at the start. Might help to decant. Seems harsher and more oaky than the 2013. Still reasonable as everyday drinker at decent price.
A little better on day 2- smoother and tannins slightly softer but still quite evident.

Nose is lively, almost zesty, with red licorice and barbecue sauce. Medium body and nice acidity. Tannins are a touch rough and astringent. Some alcohol heat rides the fruit on the front of the palate, with that fruit being comprised of cherry, cranberry, and raspberry. Finish is dry and of moderate length. This wine is a bit of the heavy side in terms of ABV and fruit, but it certainly counters that with acidity and dryness. Made well, but I'd like to see it relaxed a notch.
