Sunday, March 12, 2017 - {cork, 13.5%} A quick decant just before drinking. Not much sediment though. Restrained but aged nose; eventually remnants of liquorice and black berry flavours. There's not much oak or acid evident, but there are still traces of grainy tannins, much softened. Not huge complexity; it seems to be a wine that has faded rather than developed. But pleasant enough, if rather short-finishing; would have been better 5 years ago no doubt. Still, suggests that Uruguay can make very drinkable wines these days.
