Sunday, April 30, 2017 - A few with friends (02 Huet, 08 Pride, Sattler Zweigelt) (Tom and Betty's): Pop and pour. Purple in color. The nose is deep with black raspberries, leather, slight bacon fat and bits of pepper. On the palate, this drinks more cooler climate. Black raspberries, some damp earthy notes. Enough acidity but not bright. Starting to layer. This took about an hour or more to really open fully. I think it is getting there but not yet at peak. No harm now, but holding a few more years makes sense.
