Saturday, May 27, 2017 - Popped and poured; consumed over 3 days. Dark violet with a dark garnet rim. Initially a touch hot but there was so much fruit and spice it was easy to overlook that shortcoming. On the palate, truck loads of dark fruit and spice. Rich texture. Firm tannins. Decent acidity. Drank three quarters of the bottle and placed the cork back in the neck and left the remaining glass for Day 3. At that point, it was firing on all cylinders. The heat was gone from the nose and the fruit and spice layers were more delineated. I would love to have a few of these in the cellar and track their evolution. Drink now with patience or Hold.
