Thursday, October 13, 2005 - I have to admit to being curious to see what this wine would bring. The second label of Ken Wright developed to not dillute his brand of Pinot Noir. I am not a big expert with Ken's pinot's but have to admit expecting the cough syrup that is fairly typical of WA syrah. I was actually pleasantly surprised with a wine that while not overly complex, was certainly not over blown. This is the Pinot of local syrah! Nice blackberry and currant flavors- with good focus. A nice finish with some coffee/chocolate notes. Not super complex, but overall a nice drink that I may have guessed as a Crozes Hermitage in a blind tasting.
