  • Great bottle of wine. I wish I had more.

  • Beautiful wine and a great example of the aging process and the wonders it can produce. If I had to criticize it I'd say it had a short finish and surprisingly less body than I would have expected after tasting it when I bought it. I tasted and bought this at the winery after a flight of similar Washington sourced Syrahs. They were all HUGE and featured massive tannins, overpoweringly so. Tasting this tonight was shocking in that the tannins have mellowed to an extreme (as opposed to many Barolo's where the tannins seem to persist forever while the remainder of the wine deteriorates - that being said, I love Barolo's don't get me wrong, just some....), yet the fruit and depth remain. However, it does seem to have lost some body, perhaps concurrent with the tannins I guess. Anyways, a nicely balanced wine that is drinking beautifully now, good nose. At the $28 I bought this, sways it to 92 rather than 91.

  • Very spicy black fruit with a ton of earth. Structured and integrated nicely. Mouthcoating fruit, with just amazingly forward flavor.

  • Great black fruit, nice smooth tannins, a bit of sharp acidity resulting in a lovely wine. Outstanding - 91 points.

  • Nose - dark fruit. Palate - Surprising little fruit on palate. Smokey, high fine tannins on finish, but the little fruit detracts

  • Wow- Ken Wright is making some superb wines out of the Great Del Rio Vineyard in Southern Oregon... all of the wines out of Del Rio are amazing. This is a great tasting Room in Carlton- stop in and listen to the story about how Del Rio grows their grapes.

  • I have to admit to being curious to see what this wine would bring. The second label of Ken Wright developed to not dillute his brand of Pinot Noir. I am not a big expert with Ken's pinot's but have to admit expecting the cough syrup that is fairly typical of WA syrah. I was actually pleasantly surprised with a wine that while not overly complex, was certainly not over blown. This is the Pinot of local syrah! Nice blackberry and currant flavors- with good focus. A nice finish with some coffee/chocolate notes. Not super complex, but overall a nice drink that I may have guessed as a Crozes Hermitage in a blind tasting.
