Thursday, November 9, 2017 - I was a bit surprised by the aromatic quality of this Chardonnay, in fact it almost reminded me of a Riesling! Very floral at first, acacia, chamomile and then spices like ginger and sandal. Even tropical notes of pineapple. According to the importer this rather peculiar floral nose seems to be a character of the vintage, usually the profile is more "mineral" (I leave the interpretation of "mineral" open to the reader).
Medium body and decent acidity, some length in the aftertaste.
So not an intense wine, but with personality. The price is quite high: for 5000 yen (37 euros) you can already find some Burgundian 1er Crus but but but...
By the way, the producer is part of the Salvatore Ferragamo group. If you have friends who like Italian fashion, it may be an idea.
