Saturday, December 16, 2017 - Dark, brooding, backward, tannic monster. Bone dry, sage and a bit of green pepper. Noticeable oak but not prominent. Not mature at all, and difficult to drink, bordering on pain. Tremendous depth, but so tightly wound up, I'm a bit disappointed by how immature this wine is on this night, even after several hours in the decanter. To be fair, my cellar is cold and many wines age more slowly. Try again in 20 years.
