Saturday, January 6, 2018 - The Gevrey-Chambertin vines are from different areas of the appellation, both sides of the Route Nationale (Generally 70% new oak).
Coravin-
Ruby in the glass. The nose shows accessible aromas of cherry, wild strawberry, cranberry and pomegranate with clay, minerals, spice, florals and with the oak showing it's presence as well.
The palate shows great structure with acidity providing the backbone.
Flavors show a mix of wild strawberry, cherry, cranberry and pomegranate that mingle well with the minerality and notes of spice, earth, florals and oak. The finish lingers.
Overall, obviously young, but drinks very well with a little air. Should age exceptionally well.
