2/1/2018 5:48:00 AM - I'm not so sure that a decant will remedy this. I've gone through a case of it over the last few years and most of the bottles have been a real joy. However the last one I had at Christmas was decanted for a few hours and came across as rather mean-fruited, very much in contrast to any previous ones. Could of course be a bottle variation thing but, again, it wasn't faulty, just rather hard work.

2/1/2018 7:15:00 AM - Thanks for the note on this. I too have been working through a stash of this wine over the past 5+ years. Sad to hear it is falling off. I'll pop another one soon and see if the freshness is an issue in mine as well.

2/1/2018 7:24:00 AM - Sorry I should of noted before that this sat in the decanter about 2 hours before we drank it. I tried on opening just to ensure it was sound and found no issues.

It was not a bad wine, just not the quality I expected for such a high quality wine. I only had 2 bottles of this wine and drank the other in March of 2016 and was very happy with it. The two bottle sat in the same wine fridge their whole life, so no variation there. This bottle was just disappointing. Tasted out of balance, there was still fruit but it some how came across as hollow, hard to describe...
