88 Points

Tuesday, February 20, 2018 - I like this a lot less than its predecessors because of a strong perfume of lychee and spice which I almost might have confused with Gewurztraminer but for the colour and tannins. Add to this fuller body, firmer structure and perhaps less acidity and I found the result somewhat disjointed and less appealing. It will be interesting to see if the remainder of the bottle has integrated better after 24 hours. Only quite good.

Retasted on 2/21/2018, it has indeed improved a lot. Notes of berry fruit, especially sweet cherry, have emerged and are now mingled into the lychee and spice aromas and this alters the balance favourably to much more like previous vintages. I increase my rating to 88 and advise consumers to decant in the next year or so.
