Thursday, February 22, 2018 - Very dark crimson color, impenetrable at the core.

Expressive and intense nose of smoked meat, tapanade, iodine, black pepper, blackcurrant, and some initial reduction that blew away.

Powerful boysenberry fruit along the long but midweight palate. Good acid gives the perception of very fresh fruit. Ends quite grapey with firm tannins (some from oak influence).

Clearly a richer style of northern rhone but keeps it in enough balance to offer a tasty and interesting drink.
