Saturday, April 14, 2018 - Maybe should have waited a couple of years to open, but this one was a bit of a dissapointment

8/11/2018 12:27:00 PM - Good question! I haven't had the chance to try the 2013 yet, unfortunately - will try to find it. Do you have any recommendations for other vintages?

8/12/2018 11:36:00 PM - I agree that vintage matters, in particular in marginal climates. But I would not generalize for NZ Pinot Noir. 2013 is said to be close to perfect (in particular in the North) and 2015 is said to be very good (in particular in Central Otago). I haven't tried enough Pinots from these two vintages to make my own call, but for now I assume that between the two it is more about winery and preferred style than about the vintage only.

8/13/2018 1:36:00 PM - I agree, but would be worth doing a comparative tasting in 10 years.

8/13/2018 5:03:00 PM - Absolutely! Most wine is being drunk way too young, anyway!
