Tuesday, June 12, 2018 - Gave this a pretty vigorous decant, in my opinion this wine really benefits from a lot of air. After several hours it started to open with notes of baked raspberry cobbler and brambly blue/black fruit on the nose. Plum and notes of graphite start the palate, it's round and mouth coating, starting sweet but finishing with a nice peppery spice. There's an herbal note through the finish as well and everything just lingers.

Further resolved on day two, it's softer and the fruit definitely moved to the passenger seat, allowing the secondary notes to lead. Cocoa, espresso, more pepper. Great value.

Open in the morning well ahead of dinner or even the day before.
