Friday, June 22, 2018 - HDH auction at Spiaggia; 6/22/2018-6/23/2018 (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. The nose is clearly cabernet, but there was a nice dried herbal quality here that drove me to guess Super Tuscan. The palate clearly shows its age, and I guessed this was probably around 15 years old. Some slight cough syrup on the palate, with a heightened hit of alcohol on the back end. Certainly nothing like the heinous joke of a wine that is the 2001.
