Sunday, July 22, 2018 - Lighter colour, translucent crimson. Aroma of light forest floor, wood chips, truffle and a bit hot. 13.5% alc, noticeable, but not in a bad way. Definitely needs some breathing time. Blueberry, blackberry, milk chocolate. Light body, medium finish. Silky chocolaty tannin, very well integrated, light oak, delicate acidity.
I think delecate probably describes the wine as a whole, beautiful flavour but light. Could be easily overtaken by food, I’m making sure I have my 2 glasses before I have my curry for dinner otherwise it will be completely lost.
Can still develop further over the next few years but not something I would put aside for a decade.
