Sunday, August 26, 2018 - Good example of Pinotage, Kanonkop are reputed to be the masters. This is not their highest cuvee - but is a good wine. It's been a while since I tried a pinotage... you can taste elements of both Cinsault and Pinot Noir in this grape and it is like a cross between a Burgundy and a Chateau Neuf du Pape. Medium to full bodied, medium colour, soft tannins. Red and black fruit, some tar, quite powerful but not heavy. Nice and still young, though drinking easily.
