Friday, December 7, 2018 - A very enjoyable bottle of red Burgundy. On open, fruit was somewhat backed off and acidity was predominant. First thing, started to think ... why did I buy two of these?
Didn't take long, however, before the huge mouth coating fruits took over and worked in tandem with the acid to deliver a lovely Pinot Noir experience. Tannins are very fine but not subtle, leaving a pleasant drying counterpoint to the ripe fruits.
This wine is rich, full, delicious, and the flavors linger long. Remarkable at this price point, I think. The longer this bottle is open, the bigger it gets!
A delightfully well balanced bottle now and I would think it will mature some for a few years yet. Drink window states to 2032, can't verify but someone else is thinking this wine is in for the long haul.
