Friday, March 22, 2019 - It’s such a privelege when I can secure a case of a great wine, and follow it along over time. Normally, I would be more patient, but that’s the point here. It’s very, very difficult to keep my hands off Ramonet wines.

What I love about these wines is the purity, the precision. That essence is just as clear in Villages and Grand Cru.

The last vintage I enjoyed quite this much was 2010, but I didn’t have the good fortune to own very much. A 6 pack of Ruchottes that I would “save until it matures” - HA! It was so delicious it was gone in two months.

With 2014 I vowed not to make the same mistake. I was fortunate to secure a case of Chassagne Montrachet and I have enjoyed 11 of the 12 bottles as of today. Each one brilliant.

BRILLIANT

There’s a sense of life in this wine, it speaks to me. There’s tension, but there’s also a welcoming succulence. It just has everything.

I’m so excited to drink more 14 Ramonet, and I’ve kept my hands off the premier crus. While I fully expect the “better” wines to deliver more, I deeply admire what the winemaker has done here at the Villages level.

The best word to sum up this wine: scintillating
