Friday, April 19, 2019 - 2018 Visit to Domaine Faiveley (Nuits St. Georges): Faiveley's famous monopole, a rare monopole with its long-time producer in the name. A cuvée worth following in most vintages, this being no exception. An attractive bouquet of spices, dark berries, cassis and violets. In the mouth, pure and clean. Black and dark red fruit, game meats, steel, earth and limestone. Satiny tannins and refreshing acidity. Tightly coiled. Closed with grip on the relatively long finish. A quality cellar wine that will need longer than the 2017 (say 10+ years). I also preferred it over the 2017 version.
