Sunday, August 4, 2019 - This was a bit of a wild ride, interesting. At first and at times throughout I thought I got some VA and the wine had a "low intervention" feel as many of the hip popular wines. It evolved in interesting ways, showing soy, iron, blood, smoke, red cherry, ozone, wet granite and volcanic sulfur at times, never any of them dominating or being too strong. It was a fun wine to drink with food (working very well with grilled lamb sirloin) and sometimes challenging on its own. I'm still not sure if I'm glad or not that I have another bottle. I thought this was a very nice wine, but one that oscillates around its core rather than staying in balance if that makes sense.
