Sunday, August 25, 2019 - A prinstine bottle and perfect cork, I have been holding this 1997 for quite some time.
This wine is showing some age, but still with a deep core. Great nose.
Fruit became more youthful with air. A lot of forrest berries and secodary, tertiary flavors. Solid finish. I was not sure where this was going to go, in regards to its life.
Basically this Ridge Monte Bello 1997 improved quite a bit with about one hour of air in the decanter. However, after the second hour, this wine started to break down a little.
It peaked after about an hour in the decanter. It's prime time and ready to drink up. This is quite tasty. I recommend decanting and enjoy within 2.5 hours.
