Friday, September 6, 2019 - Bottle and cork were in perfect condition. The wine was dark garnet in colour and threw some fine sediment. It offered a nose of floral notes, plum, cherry, cooked berries, raisins, chocolate, herbs and spices. On the palate, the wine showed raisins, plum, cooked berries, cherry, coffee, some chocolate, herbs, some liquorice and spice as well as mineral and medicinal notes, with good acidity and good length. The tannin was not yet fully resolved and the alcohol was warming, but only mildly disturbing. The wine pulled itself together after an hour in the decanter and became reasonably balanced and smooth. Made in that stewed, plummy, raisiny style I dislike in CdPs, but that's a matter of preference. Good not great. Pretty consistent over two days. 89+
