9th and 10th of 12, decanted an hour, perfect cork and level, one super, the other tired, the better verging on an upgrade the other more like 90, these probably need drinking before they go over even if there's upside in better bottles. F (17.5).

8th of 12, splash decanted, perfect cork and level, as Feb 22 bottle, showing well with decent persistence and nuance, still quite fresh, probable downside from here as I've found Bosquet wines do not have longevity of Beaucastel or Rayas. F (17.5).

7th of 12, opened 90 minutes, perfect cork and level, less pepper more leather and garrigue, crunchy fruit still, little upside but no rush beyond usual caution re Bosquet wines' tendency to move from mature to decline quickly. F (17.5).

5th of 12, opened 80 minutes, perfect cork and level, still on up from last August, more expressive, lovely old grenache, crunchy fresh fruit, nicely balanced, probably around peak given history of these wines going over quickly. Certainly F (17.5).

3rd of 12, opened 90 minutes, perfect cork and level, tannins better resolved than last July's bottle, earth, almost muddy notes and more raisin than hitherto, decent acidity to bring balance and works well with rich food, but no wow here and somehow falls short, scope to improve but I'm slightly wary as the 00 and 01 aged v. rapidly once fully mature so probably prudent to drink over next 3 years. VGI (17).

Bottle and cork were in perfect condition. The wine was dark garnet in colour and threw some fine sediment. It offered a nose of floral notes, plum, cherry, cooked berries, raisins, chocolate, herbs and spices. On the palate, the wine showed raisins, plum, cooked berries, cherry, coffee, some chocolate, herbs, some liquorice and spice as well as mineral and medicinal notes, with good acidity and good length. The tannin was not yet fully resolved and the alcohol was warming, but only mildly disturbing. The wine pulled itself together after an hour in the decanter and became reasonably balanced and smooth. Made in that stewed, plummy, raisiny style I dislike in CdPs, but that's a matter of preference. Good not great. Pretty consistent over two days. 89+

2nd of 12, pnp, perfect cork and level, per my 12/18 note, attractive now but better when tannins fully resolved, should be better than current F (17.5).

1st of 12, decanted 30 minutes, perfect cork and level - dark, quite deep, garnet, little development; attractive, black cherry, plum, bramble, mineral and pepper; medium/full, ok length if no so persistent, nice sweet fruit, slightly dominated by ripe tannins as yet, leaving dry taste on exit, ok grip, early days. Should be at least F (17.5)…...slightly cautious marking as I've found great bottle variation in previous vintages with tendency to have short mature drinking window before rapidly browning and tasting old (cf my notes on the 2000).

Rule the Rhone; 10/27/2016-11/3/2016 (Northern & Southern Rhone): It was suggested that we drink this wine before heading to the 2004 La Chapelle (and we took that to mean also before the 2004 Rayas Pignon). That was prob a wise choice although it came on the heels of the Raymond Usseglio Mouvedre blend and after that this was just more wet leaves and earth and felt honestly a bit dead. If you have some would say it's time to drink up. Tried again the next night (after corking and leaving in the cold) and it wasn't drinkable.

Cantonese hot pot wih poached beef and assorment of dumplings veges and minced cuttlefish balls. A versatile wine was indeed needed, which means traditinal CDP. Soft, mellow red/blue fruits dominated the palate with persistence. Sweet without being sugarly so. A nice drink. At its very peak now and won't stay there for long.

2004 Rhone Tasting chez Lillelund (Lilleund's home): Notes of cooked plums, raisins. Oxidized and over the top. Niels says that this is typical for this cuvée. Andre says he's had better bottles. Nonetheless, this was undrinkable and went down the drain fast.

Lighter than the previous bottle, liquorice still present but far less dominating, with wonderful notes of herb and leather. Great balance, softened tannin and sublime flavour, this was terrific.

Beautiful example of CNdP, with roasted red and dark fruit, herbs de provence and a good hit of minerality. Great accompaniment to a provencal roast leg of lamb.

Glossy, polished, texture and a strong aroma of spiced raisin, blackcurrent and liquorice. The palate is dense, inky and silky with raisiny fruit and gently bitter tannins. Delicious and unmistakable quality. Actually quite a bit of raisin, although stays pretty firmly on the right side of pleasant/off putting. 92 points

Decanted; sampled over 3 hours. Very interesting warm bouquet in the first hour - plum and honey cake; hard to pin down - hint of leather, spice; earthy and herbal notes. Doesn't work without food at this stage. Probably needs to breath a little longer. Dry finish. Gradually mellows; approachable after 1.5 - 2 hours. It takes 3 hours to mellow which I wouldn't mind except the bouquet is not nearly as intense as it was in the first hour. I find this 2 hour lag is slightly problematic; keeps me from scoring higher.
Actually got the best results on the second day. Half the bottle was stored in a sealed smaller bottle with very little (only air exposure was during the pouring process). It was consumed on the second day following 30 min breathing.
I don't think it's ready. Try again 2015-2016. Needs careful decanting.

Pale garnet with a touch of bricking at rim. Lovely roasted nose with herby black fruit aromas. Full and intensely flavoured with sweet black fruits, christmas cake and coffee flavours. The tannins are big but ripe and balance the sweet fruit. Lovely.

Lot's of peppery spice and identifiable as CdP to me. Expressive fruit without being big. Clearly some heat on the nose and palate though that mars this from being an otherwise good CdP. Would probably still leave it longer for development though.
