Friday, March 6, 2020 - I opened another bottle of this wine for the sake of science, having ADORED this wine a few years from vintage. At middle age, the wine has grown darker and more complex. I think it's a testament to this vineyard's abiity to age. However, I prefer the precociousness of this wine at an earlier stage in its evolution. It's not better, so much as it is a matter of taste. Still quite enjoyable and my favorite vineyard for Briceland wines.

    3/6/2020 11:33:00 AM - I am still learning myself about aged Pinots, but I wonder how many more of these you have... It might be of interest to see how it shows in a few more years. I have had a couple at 15+ years that have been very nice.

    3/6/2020 12:01:00 PM - My plan is not to drink anymore, saving the rest for science. I think the wine is aging well and I like where it is today...but I love it as a toddler. Also, interesting that this was a relatively high abv for the vineyard (14.2%) where subsequent years were markedly lower. I don't know how that plays in, but I'm looking forward to finding out.
