Monday, April 6, 2020 - Just simply delicious! And a bit complex at that. I had the last bottle over 3 years ago; it was then out of balance. The 2014s , in my view, yielded the best cru Beaujolais in a long time (see also the Bouland and Lapierre), needed some aging, and now this one just sailed. A sophisticated fusion of fruit acid-backed dark blueberry/smoked meat/very moist earth and some dark cherry with some very noticeable spicier tones. Not a Burgundy in class, but truly a fine wine that has now come of age, dropped its early fruitier side notes and tamed the initial higher acid. No decant needed and of course serve at cellar temp.
