2019 Château Giscours

96 Points

Monday, June 8, 2020 - Flowers, black, red and blue fruits, wet earth, spice and smoke produce the attention-grabbing perfume. Pure silk and velvet in texture, the wine has richness and depth, while focusing on its purity and freshness. The long finish, with its fabulous lift and sweetness in the fruit keeps on going, long after the wine has left the glass. The wine blends 65% Cabernet Sauvignon with 35% Merlot, 13.9% alcohol. Picking took place September 11 - October 12, making this the longest harvest in the history of Giscours. This is the best vintage produced in the long history of Chateau Giscours.
95-97 Pts

6/12/2020 9:59:00 AM - Jeff- you have the 2015, 2016 and 2018 all 95s and you have this a 95 - 97 rating with the comment best wine from them to date. What’s different this year than those other three vintages would you say? Thank you as always

6/18/2020 4:08:00 AM - Thanks Jeff. I’m doubting between buying Giscours, Marquis d’Alesme, Cantenac Brown or Malescot Saint Exuperie. Any thoughts on best value for money? Already have a case of Marquis d’Alesme 2018.
