I *do* appreciate you making the effort to post this. :) As my opinion of such wines has at least somewhat changed since tasting/purchasing this in Sept '17, I'm just hoping I'm not TOO disappointed when I finally open my 1st/2. ;)

7/7/2020 1:42:00 PM - @srh glad to hear that! On my side, it’s been a big disappointment tonight, as I really liked the 2010 I had a couple years back. Alcohol was lower, and the wine was a lot more fun taste. Lots of layers backed by a good acidity (which I’m somewhat lacking here to balance the heat - to my taste, the fruit is just too stewed). That said, I’m sure there are fun of this style, but I’m not one ;-)

7/7/2020 3:15:00 PM - THANK you for the addt'l feedback, ajeeja, particularly with respect to the crucial aspect of acidity! Based upon some recent experiences with a couple of other 15% or > ABV wines I'd been cellaring, I may very well well no longer be a fan of the style either. :(

Interestingly, the 2015 has “only” 14%, but I’m wondering if the experience I had with the 2013 was a result of the vintage or a bottle that wasn’t properly stored. I guess I’ll never know :-)

6/18/2021 12:48:00 PM - I have not, & as my ability to taste is WAY off (poss chronically so as the result of medications, etc.), I've no idea when I'll be doing so. 🤔 😕
