Tuesday, July 14, 2020 - Phil's Birthday tasting (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): Slightly reductive initially then meaty, savoury black berry, slight sweet spice, quite a savoury nose. Creamy, rich mousse, plenty of acid offset and alcohol warmth, again savoury though ripe blackberry fruit is joined by talc textured tannins that have their grip reinforced by the mousse. Dry, rather lovely. A pleasant surprise.
