2009 Dom Pérignon Champagne

Sunday, August 2, 2020 - Light gold. Firm mousse that calmed down after the initial pour. This is so much better than when I had it 2 years ago. Apple and straw notes. Good balance of ripeness and acidity. Fresh and lively. Getting some toasty brioche Dom notes. Not a massive Dom but I think many of us underrated this wine on released as it was rushed out ahead of the 08. Dare I say it is actually drinking better than the 08 right now? Certainly more approachable than its steely and austere older brother! Can be enjoyed with confidence even though a relative baby.
